Gota Love the 80’s event: Music that still rocks today!
On January 27, 2024, two of the most prominent event entertainment companies, Disco Stars Entertainment and Mlicata Entertainment, united to present “Gota Love the 80s” freestyle music concert at the Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. The event was a powerhouse of nine (9) iconic artists, including The Original Covergirls, George Lamond, Freedom Williams of C&C Music Factory, Noel, Alisha, Company B, Nocera, C-Bank, and Giggles.
Renowned writer and producer of “Dreamboy Dreamgirl” and many other hits, Charlie Rock, was the host for the night.
DJ Lewis Martinee, a multi-platinum-selling songwriter and producer, as well as a Billboard and BMI Songwriter of the Year, provided the music for the night.
The concert was an electrifying night of nostalgia, with fans dancing and singing along to the beats of their favorite songs. Fans even brought their vintage vinyl record covers, getting them signed by the artists and taking pictures with them.
Florida, particularly Miami, wasn’t just a contributor to Freestyle; it was a driving force, a cultural incubator, and a heartland for this unique and vibrant genre. Its legacy continues to pulsate in the rhythm of Miami’s streets and beyond. Miami Freestyle infused the genre with its own distinct identity. Latin rhythms, pulsating basslines, and soulful vocals blended seamlessly with electronic beats and catchy synth melodies, creating a sound that was both danceable and emotionally charged. Miami fostered a generation of iconic Freestyle artists, including Company B, and many more.
We look forward to more freestyle events in Florida promoted by Frank Spadea & Michelle Amico Licata. For details on upcoming events, please visit:https://gottalovethe80s.com/
