The Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater pulsed with vibrant energy on March 23rd, 2024, as 5,000 fans witnessed the Spring Freestyle Flashback Music Fest take center stage. Promoter Charlie Rodriguez of Charlie Rodriguez Live Entertainment curated a phenomenal lineup featuring fifteen performers, all backed by the official DJ of the event, the legendary DJ Jorge Santana.
The evening kicked off promptly, with rising star Melissa Bonilla setting the tone. Following her act was a dose of 80s nostalgia with a special Tom Hooker appearance. C-Bank kept the momentum going with her powerhouse vocals and iconic tracks. Soave, ever the showman, delivered his signature cool and collected performance, dazzling the audience.
The Flirts brought a touch of “passion with a hint of danger” to the stage, followed by Coro’s pulsating set that had the crowd chanting “Where are you tonight my love?”
Next, SNAP(!) brought the house down, reminding everyone why they’re rhythm kings. A refreshing intermission allowed fans to indulge in the culinary creations of Chef Ramoncito before Dreamgirl Cynthia took the stage. The magic of freestyle continued with Brenda K. Starr, who reignited the audience’s love for the genre. Lime transported everyone back to the days of “Your Love” and “Unexpected Lovers,” while Judy Torres brought the energy with her signature dance moves and a trip down memory lane. But there was “No Reason to Cry” because George Lamond was next, delivering a heartfelt rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’ that left hearts swooning.
The international recording artist La Bouche kept the party going with their chart-topping hits “Be My Lover” and “Sweet Dreams,” reminding everyone that “Tonight is the Night.” The night culminated in a spectacular finale with TKA. Their flawless dance moves, dazzling outfits, and even a seamless performance from their newest member solidified their status as freestyle icons.
As the final notes faded, the crowd dispersed shortly before midnight, thoroughly satisfied and buzzing with the night’s electrifying performances.
